18 Feb 2010 00:00

The national federations of Kenya, Costa Rica, Cameroon and the British Volleyball Federation will receive financial support to engage a skills coach for their respective preparations for the FIVB World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games.

"One of the FIVB's main priorities at the moment is to give more enjoyment to participants by providing the opportunity for them to learn more of the fundamentals of the sport," Mr. Araujo said. "This in turn will help improve the level of Volleyball around the world and on this occasion the FIVB World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games in particular, giving players and fans a much more enjoyable experience all round."

The selection process for the four federations was made by the FIVB in collaboration with the five Confederation Presidents who are all FIVB Executive Vice-Presidents.

The Cameroon men's team will feature in the FIVB Men's World Championship Italia 2010, which takes place from September 24 to October 10 while the Costa Rica and Kenya women's team will be participating in the FIVB Women's World Championship Japan 2010, which runs from October 29 to November 14. The British Volleyball Federation women's team will be the hosts for the 2012 Olympic Games.
